At the age of 17 Allan Scharff began his career at the prestigious Danish master of silver, Georg Jensen. He’s especially known for his “Madame Ibis” pitcher. He now has a shop in Copenhagen – which of course is placed in a street named Silverstreet - next to the beautiful King’s Garden.

In this workshop you’ll melt into a universe of simplicity and organic shapes inspired by natures raw and poetic expression. Allan Scharff believes that nature has an abundance of simple solutions to complex design issues.
“The form is shaped in dialogue with the precious pure metal by simple basic techniques. It is exactly in this meditative state of the craft that the magic happens,” the silversmith states.

Allan Scharff is in truth both a silversmith and a pioneer. Not only does he find inspiration and solutions in nature, but he also translates new techniques like 3D printing, into classic unique jewelry.

Throughout his career Allan Scharff has worked for Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen and Holmegaard. He has made DVD’s about the silversmith techniques to educational institutions and museums.
